Do you want to leave a review? We will reach out to you via email after your purchase!

We do our best to ensure honest reviews. Both for our customers and ourselves. We want to give a clear and transparent view of the quality of our products & brand.

The only way to accomplish this is to show actual reviews that offer no incentive whatsoever.

We do not pay anyone to place a good review or remove a bad one.

To accomplish this we partnered up with Trustpilot, who
checks if reviews are real and honest. We also show reviews from 3rd party platforms like Etsy, Bol.com, Amazon and eBay. They take responsibility for their own reviews.

We actively remove fake reviews; positive or negative. We check for fake reviews by verifying if the customer actually placed an order from us.

Do note that we offer paid incentives for video’s created by influencers and customers, who review our products and brand. We will always let you know if this is the case.

SYBASoil

Check out our pot volume calculator or check a plant's pot individual page.

The titles of the mixes give a good idea, but do not include all species of plants. Use our guide to find the perfect soil.

Check it out here: The SYBASoil Guide

Our products are measured by volume, i.e. in litres. This is done because many of our products are slightly wet to preserve their quality.

As a result, the weight of the volumes may vary slightly from time to time. In summer, when it is warmer, products dry out more, so weight is somewhat less, but the volume remains the same

Some plant groups (like orchids/carnivorous plants) have many different species with very different growing requirements. Sometimes then another soil mixes might work better in your environment.

Our mixtures are tested in the Nederlands, at room temperature with growth lights. Your location/growing cabinet/window sill might be very different, making another soil mixture a better choice. We always appreciate you sharing if you tested our soil mixes against a self made mix!

You can store SYBASoil for about 2 years. Make sure to store it cool, dark and closed off. The effectiveness of the nutrients can degrade over months & years. Simply add some fresh worm castings to give the soil new life.

*In general we would not recommend you to store our soils for longer periods of time as our soils quality depends on our fresh and wet ingredients. Expecially our worm castings lose their quality when dried out. This is as the fresh worm castings contain beneficial microfauna that help your plants with pest prevention and plant growth.

Each plant has specific care requirements. So, it would only be logical to give each plant a soil mix suited to its particular needs.

Our SYBASoil is designed with your plants specific needs in mind!
Our SYBASoil uses coconut coir instead of peat, which is still commonly used by others.  While peat is an excellent base for soil, it is not a sustainable resource.

Peat also compacts over time, usually in about a year, while coco coir stays structuraly stable for much longer.

Its harvesting has a negative influence on the peat bog ecosystems. Coco coir has an almost neutral PH of 7, making it an excellent base for a wide variety of plants.

Lastly, SYBASoil uses fertilizer made from worm castings and organic fertilizers. This mix provides all the nutrients your plants need. From nutrients to trace elements, this mix will help them grow happily!

We recommend repotting once any of these things happen:

- You see roots growing out of the bottom of the pot
- The soil dries very quickly between watering
- The plant is top-heavy and wants to fall over
- Roots are pushing the plant up and out of the container
- Every 1 to 2 years

The nutrients in SYBASoil will run out in ~6 months on average. Check out our Fertiliser line

You can store SYBASoil for about 2 years. Make sure to store it cool, dark and closed off. The effectiveness of the nutrients can degrade over the years. Simply add some fresh worm castings to give the soil new life.

Our packaging can be recycled at your local plastic recycling facility.
You can also re-use it for storage, or leave a little soil and use it as a propagation box!

For any questions about your SYBASoil mix please visit the product page in order to find more information.

We have the ingredients, recipe and technical details stated in the description of the soil mix.

No, our soil is not sterilised. This is since most our soil mixes contain worm castings, these provide many beneficial microfauna we like in our soils! When the soil is sterilized these beneficial microfauna would die. These microfauna ensure healthy and happy plants.

Our soils are packaged and shipped slightly wet. This is to help ensure the quality of the mix. Most of our soil components need to be slightly wet to maintain their quality. A good example is our worm castings. Worm castings need to remain slightly wet to ensure all the beneficial soil microfauna stay alive. These microfauna help ensure happy and healthy plants!

We don't have specific soil mixes for cuttings and sowing. Instead, we often recommend using coconut coir for this purpose. This stays wet for a bit longer than our soil mix, which allows seeds to germinate well. And it is also ideal for cuttings grown on water, to make transplanting easier.

Our soil mixes contain organic fertilisers, which can be too much for young seedlings and roots, which can cause root burn.

No, our soil mixes contain organic nutrients that include bone meal and feather meal. 85% of these ingredients come from waste streams from other industries.

Noticed a little white fuzz after using our 100% organic fertiliser? Don’t worry—it’s totally safe! It’s just nature doing its thing as organic materials break down, improving the soil and boosting plant health. Think of it as a sign your fertilise

No, they can be harmful if ingested.

Yes, our Cacti fertilisers are also suitable for ferns.

Yes, but the dosage will be slightly different, this is indicated on the product label and our website!

Yes, these fertilisers are suited for both types of orchids!

Yes, these fertilisers can be used during both phases of the orchids growth.

No unfortunately this is not possible. Since this fertiliser is developed for soil mixes. So it needs the microfauna/bacteria in the soil to break down and be available for the plant. So adding our organic fertilisers to your SYBAStones would not give the nutrients to your plant.

Additionally this could start to smell and cause algae growth. Therefore we recommend our mineral slow release (not BIO) fertilisers for your mineral mix/hydro mix!

No, unfortunately this is not possible with slow release fertiliser that are suitable for hydro mixes or semi-hydro set-ups. These fertilisers have specialised coating that makes them release nutrients slowly. However for this to work, this needs to be of mineral origin, so these fertilisers are not organic.

Our liquid fertilisers can crystallise if the bottle is stored or transported in cold temperatures (below 5 degrees Celsius). This is normal and these crystals/lumps can dissolve back into the liquid if the bottle is stored at room temperature. This does not affect the quality or composition of the fertiliser, so it is still safe to use!

Unfortunately we do not recommend to use our liquid fertilisers as a foliar spray on the leaves of your plant. This could leave a residue and cause spots on the leaves.

However, you can make compost tea from our wormcastings, this tea is suitable to use as a foliar spray for most houseplants!

SYBAStones

Yes! Our SYBAStones mixes work best with our selfwatering pots. Other pots using a wick also work great.

You can even build your own selfwatering pot, by placing a pot with drainage holes in a closed pot!

We would not recommend using our SYBAStones with our normal plant pots. Our SYBAStones dry out faster than normal soil. They are designed to work together with a selfwatering pot, to create a semi-hydro set-up, in which your plant has consistent moisture due to the waterreservoir of the selfwatering pot.

Using our SYBAStones with normal pots can lead to underwatering, which can cause root damage and stress the plant. Setting up a normal pot in a closed pot (without drainage hole) can work. But watering is harder as the waterlevel is harder to check if these pots are not both transparant.

* For our SYBAStones Cacti mix this would work great!

No, unfortunately this is not something we can garantee. Dust is still likely to form during transport or the mixing of these mixtures. Our SYBAStones lines are shipped slightly wet to reduce dust forming, but it is not attainable to get the products a 100% dust free.

So, we recommend to rinse our SYBAStones before repotting your plant, to ensure aeration of the plant roots!

After transport some dust can form. This will slowly rinse out when watering your plants. This will cause a grey/brown coloring of the water in the waterreservoir. You can flush your SYBAStones with water (rinsing thouroughly) to remove any dust that has formed.

You can place cuttings (grown in water) directly in our SYBAStones.

For established plants in soil we would recommend to remove the old soil, especially if you have had issues with fungus gnats, before transplanting in SYBAStones.

And rinsing the SYBAStones before use, to get rid of any dust formed during transport is recommended to increase aeration of the mix!

Yes, the SYBAStones itself is organic. However, the slow release fertilisers are not. To ensure these fertilisers are of high quality and release nutrients slowly it is not possible to produce them organically.

Yes, our SYBAStones can easily be reused! Make sure to clean your mix of any old plant material and rinse it thouroughly with water before reusing.

This can occur when transplanting your plants to SYBAStones, this can be due to the roots not being fully cleaned of the old soil and the mix being too wet.

If you are sure you fully cleaned the roots or have a cutting from water in the SYBAStones, then this can be caused by dead plant material (roots dying from transplant shock), you can flush (fully rinse out) your pot to help get the dead material out.

If this remains an issue then check the root system of your plant, as it might not survive on SYBAStones due to roots dying off (not adapting to the new substrate at all).
